A web based seafarer crewing system utilizing standard connections to the Internet offers the manning company and its principals a cost-effective and efficient way of accessing and updating information from anywhere in the world.
Although designed to operate on the Internet, a web based system can also be installed and run on a Local Area Network (LAN).
Full crew management lifecycle - vessel requirement, crew selection, medical & licensing documentation/tracking, training documentation/tracking, dispatch & embarkation, performance monitoring, payroll & allottee remittance/services, and disembarkation
Automated crew selection - the system recommends seafarer candidates who best match the requirements of the principal, of the vessel, and of the position applied for
Built-in document image management system - the system controls the image capture, naming, storage, retrieval and printing of documents such as passport, visas, seaman book, licenses, and training certificates
Maintains data on: seafarers & allottees, principals, vessels, positions/ranks, and position requirement matrix (based on combinations of position, rank, principal, vessel type & flag)
Runs on Microsoft .NET/PHP platform with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 or MySQL
For less demanding data access and updates, PHP.NET Web Forms are employed to implement programmable Web pages that render themselves as HTML documents and scripts that can be handled by a browser on any platform
